Radiation from Japan

With the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, there is concern that radiation released from Japan's damaged nuclear plants will travel to the United States. According to an article in Science Daily it is not expected that there will be any danger to the U. S. from the radiation. Monitoring stations in southern California have not detected any increased radiation. It is predicted that the radiation will fall to the Pacific Ocean with rain, where it will then become diluted. We must keep listening to the reports as they come in because these are just the expected outcomes. According to an article released today in CNN, radiation monitors in California have detected increased levels of radiation, but the levels are not considered harmful to human health. It seems as if the radiation will not effect us, but it would be wise to listen to the radio and news to hear the latest reports.
